"Why do babies grow up?" I thought this to myself as I crammed Jack into his bassinet tonight. I have yet to transfer our almost 7-month-old into his own room and into his crib. I just realized that it might be time, seeing as the bottom of the bassinet is dipping from his 18 pound body, and also because if he grows any taller his head and feet will touch both ends. I'm just hoping it doesn't break, because it's actually a loaner from a friend, and I wouldn't want to have that conversation. J.R. has been bugging me for about 4 months now to start having him sleep in his crib, but I just haven't been able to do it yet. It wouldn't be such a big deal, but the way the floorplan of our house is set up is giving me major separation anxiety. When we first looked at the house, our realtor said, "... and over here you will find the two smaller bedrooms, and if you walk with me through the living room, dining room, and kitchen, and past the laundry room, you will find the master bedroom!" I think my exact words were, "Ummm.... okay...." I still love the house, but it would be nice to have adjacent bedrooms. I'm making a mental note for the next time we buy a house.
J.R. recently pinned on 1st LT, which marks 2 years since he graduated OTS, and it also means a nice, healthy pay raise for us. Money has been a bit tight since I quit working, so it will be nice to be in the black again... or the red... whichever is the good one.
I have been pretending lately that we still live in California. I have decided that our last base was my favorite one yet! Being only 15 minutes from Pismo Beach wasn't too shabby. I didn't even mind the smell of manure from the farm behind our house. At least it was warm most of the time. I do love Cheyenne, though. We couldn't ask for better neighbors, and it's nice only being 6 hours from SLC.
Until next time.... Oh, and here's Jack eating a biscuit.

I know what you mean - I hate to see my babies growing up. I'm so glad you are enjoying motherhood! You are an awesome mom. I can't wait to meet your little one either :)
